IO Chats: Lauren Abda


We sat down with Lauren Abda for the latest edition of IO Chats, live one-on-one conversations with amazing people from the worlds of food, technology, and design, hosted by our CEO Jennifer Broutin Farah.

Lauren Abda is the founder of Branchfood, a Boston-based community of food startups, entrepreneurs, and businesses changing our food system through innovation. Together they discussed their early food memories and how innovation is changing the food industry from the ground up.

  • 1 can chickpeas

  • 3 garlic cloves

  • 2 lemons juiced

  • 3 tablespoons of tahini

  • Salt to taste


Blend chickpeas with chickpea juice. Separately mash garlic with salt and add juice from one lemon to that mixture. Pour blended chickpeas over the garlic, salt, and lemon. Add in one tablespoon of tahini at a time. Stir in juice from the second lemon. Add additional salt to your liking.
